I thought I’d share my helpful hints for packing up decorations. This applies to all seasonal decorations. I am sorry for the late post. I’ve been busy with LOTS of family and a step-grandson getting married. Here you go with packing:
*First, take photos of the way you have decorated your home or office. This will help you for the next season to remember where you placed items. Even if you change up your decor it helps to know where you left off the previous year.
*Second, purchase large plastic totes and label them according to rooms in your house with decorations. Along with labeling the room on the tote. I suggest you make notes with your marker as to the main items in the tote. This will help the next year by placing in the right room and where the items will most likely go. It also helps if you make notes to enclose of adjustments in decorating. Example: “Decor Entertainment Cabinet.
*Third, make labels on paper, stickies, freezer or old wrapping paper AND you can use old wrapping paper or freezer paper as dividers in layers of decorations. Example: placing paper between layers of garland, arrangements, items for a particular table or area.
*Fourth, when using plastic grocery bags, clear laundry bags, zip-lock bags to protect your items enclose notes as to how and where you used the items. This helps so much the following year.
*Fifth, for bows and ribbons you want to stay in place, stuff them with tissue paper or grocery plastic bags to keep their shape.
*Sixth, have a muscle man to haul your full totes up to the attic or storage area. I’m SO thankful for my son, Joseph, who I refer to as He-Man, a 90’s Cartoon Character. He’s a STRONG guy! I do try to be aware of the weight of my totes, because I have to handle them too.
I am thankful for those of you who have subscribed!!!! Until my next post….God Bless You!
