I’m preparing for our annual White Elephant Christmas Party. Lots to do, but to keep it as stress free as possible follow these steps:
- Email or mail a save the date invite at least one month before the party.
- Mail invites three weeks before party with a RSVP. In this way if you do not hear from someone you can call to see if they received their invitation.
- Have your home cleaned & decorated.
- Hire a reliable person to come one hour before the party begins, to help with putting & replenishing the food on the table, picking up the dishes, washing & clean up after the party. I usually schedule my sweet lady three months in advance. She also helps with preparing and serving cocktails during the party.
- Plan your food & desserts. Go with what you know you and your guests like best and stick with it. However, I do like to introduce a new item or two as well. It makes it fun for me!
- Get grocery list ready for purchases.
- Start preparing & prepping three days before.
- Lay out food tables with dishes & paper labels of what is to go where. I split food table areas so I don’t have everyone congregating in one place.
- Get all prepping & desserts finished the day before party.
- The day of put together items to be baked according to your party time. Your help can help here too.
- Then enjoy your time with your guests.
I hope I’ve helped you in some way plan for your next party. It’s such a joy to share good food and fellowship with dear friends. Until my next post ……. God Bless You!
