The Brenham Fortnightly Club is having its 10th Annual Used Book Sale this week. The sale is always held the last week of February, Wednesday through Saturday. There are various ways books are received throughout the year at the Fortnightly book building, cleaning house, couples downsizing, those clearing out estates to name a few. A HUGE thank you goes to the members that volunteer their time to sort and price the books. It helps tremendously when we need to set up in seven days prior to the sale date.
Books are sorted by categories such as; Cookbooks, History, Politics, Gardening, Hobbies, Art, Film, Photography, Music, Health, Medical, Classics, Religion, Children, Biographies, …….. . Prices range from $1.00 & $2.00 unless otherwise marked.
Novels, paperback and hardcover are sorted by authors name, so if you follow a certain author you can easily find books you need. By the way small paperbacks are .50 each, large paperbacks are $1.50 and hardcovers are $2.00.
We also have a large selection of audio and videos, VHS, DVD’s, CD’s, and cassettes. If it’s movies, music, or books on cassettes or DVD’s there is a variety to choose from. Prices here too range from $1.00 & $2.00 unless otherwise marked.
We have beautiful coffee table books, books signed by authors, first editions, collection of the Beatles and vintage books too.
I took these photos after our first four days of set up. We still had many boxes to unload yet.
We have lots of book dealers that attend this book sale from surrounding states and all over Texas on the first day. Home school parents, teachers, day care providers, interior decorators and bookworms of all kind love this sale, which allows them to stock up on books at GREAT prices. ALL the proceeds go to our local library. So please come and buy, buy, buy and deplete our inventory!

The audio & video area is overflowing. Lots of wonderful videos of Disney, westerns, exercise, sports, classics and hunting to name a few.
